On 2 April, Universcience chairperson Claudie Haigneré and Banque de France governor Christian Noyer inaugurated the exhibition "All you need to know about economics” at the Cité des sciences et de l’industrie.
This temporary exhibition – the biggest on the economy to date in France – is intended to translate a number of economic notions and mechanisms into a language that is accessible to all. It thus offers insights into a subject that is now more than ever at the heart of current events.
Claudie Haigneré and Christian Noyer made two short speeches to welcome the guests to the inauguration. Having presented the exhibition, they both remarked on the good cooperation between the teams at Cité des sciences and its partner institution Banque de France.
The large number of guests were then free to explore the 1,000 square metre exhibition set in an entertaining, colourful, interactive space, offering experiences and activities including individual and group games as well as films. Ahead of future visitors to the exhibition, they were the first to be able to try their hand at some of the educational tools due to be used at the future Cité de l’Économie et de la Monnaie.
“All you need to know about economics” will run at the Cité des sciences until 5 January 2014.
