“Journées du Patrimoine” 2011

The Banque de France invited you to its open doors days during the “Journées du Pat­rimoine”, on September 17 th and 18^th, 2011.

As you wander around the Parisian headquarters of the Banque de France, you learned more about money, thanks to three exhibitions:

• The key dates of the Banque de France’s history.

• “The gold of France”: learn everything about the building of the famous under­ground shelter where the gold of France is kept, approach a real gold ingot and dis­cover what happened to the French people’s gold during the two World Wars.

• With the enter­taining exhib­ition “Check your bank­notes, it’s easy”, you learned how to dis­tin­guish genuine from false banknotes.
